Colchester Open 2017

The Colchester Open will be held on 25th / 26th February at Monkwick Sports Centre (Thomas Lord Audley School).

The entry form can be downloaded from the CEEBF website.

No Junior Badminton 4th Dec

There is no junior badminton on Sunday 4th December.

We will be back on 11th and 18th before breaking for Xmas.

New NBL Franchise - Suffolk Saxons

Two new teams have been added to the National Badminton League with one of them, Suffolk Saxons, playing their home matches on our doorstep in Ipswich. The dates for the home games are;

7/11/16 Suffolk Saxons v Surrey Smashers - Corn Exchange, Ipswich

5/12/16 Suffolk Saxons v Bristol Jets - Corn Exchange, Ipswich

13/2/17 Suffolk Saxons v University of Nottingham - venue to be confirmed in Ipswich

The first fixture against Surrey Smashers offers the opportunity to see Olympic Bronze medalist Chris Langridge in action close up!

The organisers are looking for volunteers to be line judges. If you want the best seat in the house put your name forward by following this link;

New Season Starting Soon!

The new season will kick off at the start of September, all sessions will be at The Stanway School;

Pay & Play starts on Monday 5th, 8-10pm

Senior Club starts Tuesday 6th, 7:30-10pm

Development Squad also resumes Tuesday 6th, 6:30-7:30pm


Our junior club sessions are still being finalised but will be moving to the weekend. More information to follow very soon!

Junior Tournament Age Group Changes

All national level tournaments have changed the definitions for their age groups.

There is a post on the Federation website with more details.

Summer Sessions

The Stanway School will be using their sports hall for exams over the summer term so we are not able to make any bookings after 23rd April. We have managed to make alternative arrangements for Monday Pay & Play and the main club;

Pay & Play - starting Monday 25th April will be at Thomas Lord Audley School, Monkwick Ave, Colchester CO2 8NJ. Access to the sports hall is via School Road. As before sessions will be 8-10pm.

Senior Club - from Tuesday 26th April we will have two courts at Thurstable School, Tiptree from 7:30-10pm.

Unfortunately we have not been able to offer any junior sessions for the summer term.

This year we have adapted the format to ensure that everyone gets at least 3 matches.
