We have quite a lot of flexibility since we are entered into three totally separate competitions but we are aiming to give everyone as many matches as they want this season.

Colchester & East Essex Community Badminton Network

We have received some £500 from Badminton England to help start a beginners / intermediate level badminton night. This will make Stanway the hub club of a new Community Badminton Network covering Colchester and Tendring districts. Community Badminton Networks are a core part of Badminton England's strategy for increasing adult participations (see the regional development plan for the East of England).

The new sessions will run on a Monday night from 8pm - 10pm and will cost just £4 a person for each session. These sessions will be closely connected with the main club and should help get more people playing organised badminton with a view to increasing participation in the Colchester Federation leagues.

If you know anyone that would like to play badminton but isn't quite at league standard or isn't able to commit to the expense of joining the main club please recommend them to come along on a Monday evening.

Change of Night for Junior Badminton

Starting 12th September our junior club will run on a Monday evening from 6:30pm - 8pm. The change of night allows us to offer an extra 30 minutes every week and therefore makes us compliant with the conditions for Clubmark status. This will be an important step in the development of the club.

Start of New Season for Junior Club

Stanway Junior Club will start tomorrow evening, Thursday 8th September, with the session from 6:30pm - 7:30pm.

It would be appreciated if all parents could join us in the hall for 15 minutes to cover some administration points. We look forward to seeing you all.

UPDATE: following a meeting of parents on the 8th Sept it was decided to move to a Monday night starting from 12th September.
